As psychologists McFarland and Bessel Van Der Kolk noted, attachment to key individuals serves as our primary safeguard against feelings of helplessness and meaninglessness. Trauma of any kind - PTSD, complex, developmental, familial, and multigenerational (inherited) trauma often gets in the way of being able to attach to key individuals in order to experience a full vivacious life. If you've tried therapy before and have found that you've just talked about the same things over and over again with little resolution, it's important to understand that a different experience is available to you. You deserve to have a different experience in finding progression in your healing not just endlessly recounting the same stories. Sometimes we get in our own way without knowing it or we simply don't know how to navigate our challenges.
